My radiator needed to be flushed and I had some small overheaating, but I put antifreeze in and it seemed to run fine by my gadge. Just this week I was driving and it seemed to run fine until I heard this knocking sound and I had no excilleration and the car shut off, so I coasted it into a parking spot.(I was only driving for about 5 minutes if that} I tried to start it and it was the same knocking sound Iand it shut off after about 20 seconds.I checked the oil and water/antifreeze they were fine and the car isnt leaking or smoking.Any one have any idea..I really need my car and I have no clue what this could be..please help!! Thanx, Miranda,

Most likely when the car over heater the head gasket was compromised. Most of the time one of the cylinder heads or both will warp and this allows the engine coolant to leak into the cylinders when the car heats up and the cooling system is pressurized.

When coolant gets inside a cylinder it can't compress water and the engine will stall or seize.

Need to pull the head (s) off and or swap out the motor for a rebuild.

Good Luck!!
