NEW brakes?
They tend to stink a little for a day or so.
Now if it starts smoking, then you have a problem.

it is normal for the first 500 miles. If it is excessive, you are probably hitting the brakes to hard and if you continue, soon you will screw up the brakes and you will actually need to get a new brake job again!

Many people don't know that when you get a new brake job, you have to "break in" the brakes. just like when you buy a new car, you are not supposed to drive it hard and "break it in" the first 3,000 miles.

It could be brake dust from the new ones settling in. Try taking it to the car wash and use the high pressure sprayer inside of the rims/hubcaps.

otherwise, the other poster is right and they could just be sticking a little bit. Check to make sure that the brakes are a proper fit - or your rotors might have to be cut down.

They could have gotten some grease on the rotors, so you could get some aerosol spray cleaner for disc brakes and clean them off. Sorry, thats all I got.

Um, it's the brakes. It'll be that way for the first little while till they are worn in.

If a shop did the work they may have not cleaned off the rotors and if you did it did you bleed the line?Did you check for a sticky caliper?Take it for a ride and brake and see if it smoking or hot and this will pin point the problem.Good Luck.
