I have replaced the fuel pump and the cam shaft sensor and am still having the same problem. When this first started the cruise control light would come on and then the car would die.

Intrepid's are well known for their never ending history of electrical problems. Sadly, that type of unreliability is what has contributed to Chrysler's demise. From my point of view, you are being nickle & dime'd to death. I suggest getting rid of it. Research the automotive columns & buy the most reliable car on the market. Not the biggest or most expensive. A Mazda 3i or Mercury Milan I4 are getting terrific reviews. You have my sympathies. G'luck!

Sounds like an electrical problem. go to Autozone or a auto parts store in your area, and have the alternator checked. If the electrical unit checks well, I would have a mechanic check the computer and sensors. It could be something as simple as a emissions sensor shutting down the computer.
