I've had my honda accord ex for almost a year now. I just got my oil changed and pretty soon I will need to change all 4 tires. My mom told me that instead of changing the tires why not buy a new car. First let me tell you, I am an independent student who moved out for college and take care of everything 100% on my own. I had to change my engine a couple of months ago, however the car is pretty old. Sometimes when Im on the freeway I can feel a jolt. I'm planning on getting a lexus rx330 2003 for 16,000. I dont know if this is a wise choice or not, but my car is pretty old and worn. I'm a freshman in college. I have financial aid and making around 1800 each month (I work full time). Im able to save around 900 each month after taking care of all my bills. If I buy this care I will have to pay $100 in car insurance and probably pay around $300 in auto loan on top of that. So I will only have 500 left over a month which probably wont be enough to save. So is it worth buying a car in times like this or should I wait? Thanks. There's always pros and cons to both sides.
Plus if i buy the lexus I will probably be able to get a down paymet of 4000 which meanns I have to get a finance but I dont know if I can because Im just a student and only working full time for 6 months.
