I have a 1984 Ford F-150 with a 4.9 6 cyl. and a 4 speed manual 4x4 it has been sitting outside for about 7 years without an air filter on the carb it ran great when it was parked and i was wondering what i might need to do to get it running again also where the fuel pump would be located

The fuel pump is easy; it's on the side of the engine and a new one only cost $35.00 at O'Reilly. Vermin are the enemy, something may have camped out over the last several years in the engine. If there's no evidence of that, First put WD-40 in all the spark plug holes and let it sit a couple days, charge or change the battery, Drain the old gas and put in fresh, I would say you just need a tune up, all fluids changed, any fittings greased . Was the hood closed? If it was you'll be good with what I said.
