I have a 1983 Toyota Corona with no working indicators.?

All the lights were working when I took it for a roadworthy but it failed the roadworthy due to the left hand brake light not working. By the time I got the car home I had no brake lights or indicators. My husband & I have checked bulbs, fuses & relays. Yes I'm female & work on the car with my husband,my hands are smaller than his & can get into spots he can't. Our other car is a van the engine bay is smaller. The brake lights now work (blown bulbs) but the indicators still aren't working & we don't know whether we have missed something else that may be causing our problem. Are there fuses somewhere else besides the obvious ones. The lights are the only thing we need for a roadworthy.

Can anyone help with some helpful suggestions with things we haven't tried or looked at.
When I say indicator I mean the left & right hand blinkers. The dash lights all work except the blinkers as they don't work inside or outside
 
There are a few main fuses up on left fender under the front hood, but I doubt that those are the problem. If by indicators you mean the lights that come on on the dash where the speedometer is, then those bulbs might have also blown or gone bad, which is not uncommon.
The only lights indicator up there is for brights on headlights. But any of those little bulbs can burn out, especially over 1/4 century of using a car like that old. It's hard to get to those bulbs, because the dashboard is so small, and you usually have to take the whole dashboard off to get to them.

Other than that, I'm not sure what you mean by indicators for brake lights. But an electrical short on that old a car isn't rare.
