i have a 04 ford ranger with a 4.0 and its 4x4 its overheating i've feel like i have tried everything

whats it doing is it runs fine for about 10 to 15 miles and the temp is running at normal but thats of freeway driving once i get off the freeway and start driving stop and go at lights the truck starts to over heat so i stop and check it the over flow tank is over flowing and my coolant system has more then factory pressure once i get the cap off the raditor its bone dry

what i have done i had the water pump checked and its fine i replaced the cap and thermostat and flushed the radiator and block

i need help this truck is makeing me mad i want to run it off the side of the world

In some overheating cases I have come across in the last 15 years in the industry there is usually many issues that are coming into play. here allow me to explain.
See, while driving on the freeway the have the wind force in threw the front of the Radiator that will allow the water temp to appear as though the vehicle is running normally. However is a fails reading. In most cases such as this there is usually a crack some where in the radiator its self. Most then likely with that Ranger, beings that it has a foraged plastic upper and lower takes you will find the crack in the seem. It will be extremely hard to see or undetectable to the eye with have a pressure test preform er on the system. You might have also bought the wrong cap as well and be loosing pressure cause the cap is not maintaining the correct pressure needed to maintain the system.
As for the overheating during stop and go traffic. You, without a doubt in my mind have a bad Fan clutch! there is usually a fan clutch the is attached to the to the water pump on the Ford trucks. They have a terrible habit of going out OFTEN! Check it out! If you need to trouble shoot it any further you can contact me via email.
Best of Luck to you. Just Remember, IT IS A FORD!:))
