i have 99 honda shadow ACE 750 that just stopped running?

i changed out the stator and ignition regulator a couple months back. But i have noticed that when i touched the engine stop button when its on the on position it would want to stop. twice the head light would not come on when the bike was running. i would have to turn it off and back on for it to work. any help greatly appreciated
