(I'm trying to do a survey about how many historical events repeat themselves and if the same area or just globally.)

1) President Chavez orders navy to Venezuela’s seaports (for Latin America)
2) President of Guinea-Bissau Assassinated (Africa)
3) Unemployment passes two million (Europe in England)
4) North Korea reopens border to South Koreans (Asia)

I need a historical analysis for each.
For Latin America one, I was thinking of tying it back to a certain country where the government takes over in control of public areas in like the 1700's or 1800's like with China, Mexico, Japan or even like France or Germany or something but I can't think of anywhere specific on the top of my head. Can anyone help elaborate on this one?

2) Assination of JFK? Or is this not relevant to eachother?

3) Do you think I could use the US depression in the 1930's? or is there somewhere else in Europe that can relate to this?
Maybe to the recession in the UK in 1991?
4) Is there a country like Japan that came out of isolation and reopened to the world? Do you think this could work?

PLEASE AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. IT MEANS A LOT.
