I have 2 wires for power to a scanner how do I connect them to a car battery?

I have a police scanner and it came with a black and red wire for a car battery with a fuse in the middle. My question is, what do I put on the end of the wires to hook them up to the battery? and...how would I do that? Thanks in advance!
 
if you go to the parts house -get a fuse with a red wire hanging off-and plug into fuse box and connect ground to metal somewhere-they cost about 4 bucks//looks like a reg fuse- make sure u know which fuses your car takes-this is the easist and safest way to hook up that scanner
