weird?
i'm 18, they are 16 and 21.

i was living on my own for a while and have come back to a rather quiet home.

i have heard that my family is traditionally not very talkative
is that normal or is a family usually argumentative-loud?

is it coz i'm an only boy or are there many quiet families?

sometimes it's normal, depends on each person's personality actually. some like to talk more than others......

Families should all have their quite days and argumentative days. Its good to have a balance of both i think. However if you feel the lack of conversation is annoying them either start up conversation(at a suitable time of course) and see where that leads or talk to your mum or dad about how you feel good luck!

thats pretty weird. I'm the only girl with 2 brothers and we always talk if we;re in the same room.

Your situation is just exactly same like me, but mine is both of them are elder than me.

Every family has its own unique way to communicate. Some are like what you mention "argumentative-loud", which is because they like to speak out in the family to solve a problem together or like to share their experience with family members. Another is a silent family, which is also called "Passive-Family-Member", means that 'i will only interact with you if you need my help, or you need to talk to me when urgent situation occur, or else I won't bother you' type.

So it doesn't mean that your family is not normal, they just give you the space or freedom to do your own thing, if you need their help, they'll sure going to lay their helping-hand on you.

BTW, I'm 18 too, haha... Although my family not not quite talkative type, but we still happy with the communication type we have. Hope this will help! :D

Life is just wonderful.
