I have 1997 honda shadow 600, going to ride all winter.?

What kind of oil should i use?
I live in NYC so its getting really cold during winter.
 
Really depends on how cold it gets where you live...if you don't have owners manual, see Honda dealer or visit web site.
 
For the motor, I'd say 5w30, but you are likely to run into high concentrations of friction modifiers,which are hard on the clutch, so I'd say 10w30, which is less likely to have them. Here might be the rare case where you might seek out a motorcycle oil, probably a synthetic for good flow at low temps.
