I was using the Crunch 1400.2 amp bridge to 1400 at 4 ohms. Bought a Hifonics BXi 1610 D amp and it says it puts out 1100 at 2ohms. Why is it that the Crunch amp gives me a more clear sound, better bass and more bass from the sub pushing only 700rms into the sub. I can't seem to get a good sound from the BXi 1610d, pushing 1100 rms into the sub. I know that the amps do not do exactly what it is rated for. I figured the bigger amp would give me more power and better sound. I am dumbfounded by this. Anybody tell me why this is?
thanks
It is a dual 4ohm sub. I had it bridge to the crunch amp (1400 at 4 ohm) thinking that i would get at least half of the 1400 at 2 ohms. Decided to to buy the BXi 1610d cause it was rated to do 1100 @ 2 ohms. I must not be doing something right, I am a beginner at all this.
