I hate phones

I bought an unlocked Touch Diamond and a just decided to buy a Touch HD too so I downloaded some software to sync my phonebook from the Diamond to my computer so I could transfer it to the HD. Of course I forgot to look at the software's settings before connecting the phone and instead of syncing from the phone to the computer, it synced from the computer to the phone and deleted the entire phonebook of 500+ contacts. I ended up smashing both phones and I'm using a Motorola from like 3 years ago because I just destroyed two $600 phones and don't have anything else.

So it looks like I'll be buying yet another new phone so I'm looking for recommendations, something that doesn't have the word "HTC Touch" in it. Whatever's the best (preferably under about ~$650), and it has to be unlocked / GSM and have some decent sync software. Any ideas?
 
One recommendation would be not to have destroyed two phones that are worth over 1/2k a piece; You could have sold them in order to pay for your new phone :P.
 
I actually just bought another HD, I like Windows Mobile because it's so easy to sync stuff between phones.

I like the iPhone the only reason I didn't want it is because everyone has one.
 
To deny yourself something that works well because the crowd has it seems as counterproductive as breaking expensive phones in anger.
 
I like Iphone too. but if you have the old phone and want to buy a brand new one, better sell it to other people who need the phone. hope you happy with the new one.
