I hate Ian Mckellen

Damn right - I hope this thread is some kind of joke, despite not being funny. McKellen is an absolutely quality actor and can't be too far up his own arse if, as a major movie star, he's happy to go on Coronation Street.
 
If you really do HATE Ian Mckellen, then you probably have to chekc your priorities in life.

Great Actor, can't say I know him beyond that.
 
I went on a charity walk which he was leading last year, he was stood all of 5 meters away from me for about 5 hours and he was a lovely, down to earth bloke from what I gathered. Also, the whole panto dame thing and corri...wouldnt say he was up his own arse really lol.
 
Aye, but the youth of today don't like anyone who can speak English properly.

If you don't say 'innit' or 'safe', they will hate you and everything you stand for.
 
When I was in my mid-teens and studying for my GCSEs (late 80s) I went to see his show "Acting Shakespeare" in London. I was confused about a couple of things he'd referred to, so wrote and asked him to clarify. The guy took the time to write me a lovely letter, explaining the points he'd made, and also offered a load more advice regarding the play I was studying. He ended it by thanking me for my letter and wishing me the best of luck. Hardly the actions of someone who's "up their own arse"!

Personally I think he's a brilliant actor and always come across as a lovely bloke in all the interviews I've seen.
