...smell burning rubber.? The smell of burning rubber goes away right when i get out of the car. The smell was strong the 1st morning i drove it but it starting to go awary. When i am driving short distances I dont smell it unless i am on the interstate. Also when I started my car i heard a hissing sound from my exhaust and a minute later it went away.
Could it something in my catalytic converter that is causing the burning smell or bad starter?

Go back to the shop that did the work and insist that they take a look at the problem that you state. Insist that you did NOT have this problem until the work was completed. Maybe it is a battery starter cable touching the exhaust because it was mis routed when installed. Just a guess but any mechanic with a room temp. IQ should be able to pin point it. If they dropped the exhaust system to install the starter then a hose or other item may be routed incorrectly.
