put it in a cast? I really wanted a cast for cosmetic reasons mostly but now I can't handle this splint. I'm supposed to have it on for 6 weeks but it has already been 5 days and I can't stand it anymore. It is rubbing my skin raw and irritating my arm. I want to call the hospital tmrw and ask for a cast. I don't see why they didnt put that on in the first place. A cast would be sturdy and more comfortable, instead of this crap slab of plaster wrapped with gauze and ace bandages. I think they were just trying to save money...
The surgery I had was fixing 2 broken pinky and ring finger metacarpals.
