How do i find a lawyer who will handle a case like this?
 
Financial advisors are not supposed to convince you to do anything. They are supposed to inform you of what they believe are the risks, rewards, and opportunities to balance the two. Convincing is often expressly forbidden. Lawyers generally know where to find a lawyer that specializes in what you need.
 
It depends on the situation. You might not even have a case. When you invest you assume all risks and charges. There are cases, however, when the advisor misleads a client into a bad investment.
