Small spoilers ahead.
there were 2 scenes that made me go "ugh wtf". but it only slowed down the movie for 10 seconds then the action was so awesome you forgot about it

Shia is all into this girl, Megan Fox. then John Turturro shows up and tells him she has a juvie record. Shia says "you're a criminal wtf?!" and acts like he doesn't like her anymore. but she's still just as hot. then she says something like "My dad stole cars and I got in trouble because I wouldn't turn him in. You haven't had to make sacrifices in your privileged life." then before he responds he goes and talks to someone else for like 30 seconds. then he comes back to her and looks at her like "we'll deal with it later". only they never do. later in the movie he just likes her again as if he had never stopped.

also.. there's a substory of a female nerd and her even nerdier black hacker friend. so it's already absurd. she sneaks him confidential info to get his help, but breaks the law by doing so. govt catches on and arrests them.. as if they're gonna care with decipticons destroying major cities. and they keep them in lock up until the secretary of defense comes in and says he's taking them with him as his advisors.. because the black guy found a message in the computer code. they make this big deal doing all that setup and then he never talks to them again. they just disappear. the people making the decisions are an army captain who was brought in because of experience with the transformers and shia labeouf because the transformers were looking for him. they could have killed all the nerd shit and just had a random analyst say "We found something hidden in the signal!" would have kept the pacing of the movie way better.
