I guess a vacation is more important...

I'm not attacking the President in a political way, I don't care if he takes vacations but he should be in Arlington and the Tomb of the Unknowns on Memorial Day.

You guys are terrible are reading comprehension. The third example is from Veteran's Day...not Memorial Day...but that makes it better right? We can omit observing that holiday for the troops so long as we hit memorial day.

Presidents miss this all the time for various reasons. It's not that big of a deal if Joe Biden does it instead of Obama because Obama is in Illinois at another ceremony.

Because a unknown solider (until 98) from every major overseas conflict that America has been in is buried there. The president going to honor those four soldiers on Memorial Day is the symbol of mourning every solider that never made it home.

Doesn't change the fact that the TS not only lied but quoted the part of the article showing that he lied. Obama is honoring fallen soldiers on that day.

Pathetic

I saw that briefly in Boondock Saints, but I still don't understand the Symbology of an unknown soldier?

Is there a site you can link me that details this symbology you speak of?

You seem to be stuck on the unofficial name for a monument.

Maybe we should focus more on where the tomb is located; Memorial Amphitheater

But, I guess the daily wreath ceremony at the tomb is just for the unknown soldiers...

If you want the president to be there every memorial day, please contact your local congressional representative and have them put together a bill to mandate this.

Otherwise, the president is free to mourn wherever he wants.....just like every other citizen in the USA.

He is free to mourn where ever he wishes. I'll be the last person to force him to go there.

It simply disgusts me that the Commander and Chief (not just another citizen) chooses to mourn at a location other than that which is indicative of the sacrifices of our arm forces.

Meanwhile, I'll be at my grandfather's grave at the Georgia National Cemetery.

The grave of every single soldier that has died in combat is indicative of the sacrifices of our armed forces.

No fancy marble tombs or expensive wreaths will place the death of one soldier above that of another.
