I got the Galaxy S yesterday with Sprint. The volume wont work?

Okay, so I am new to the Droid phones. Honestly, I have no idea what I am doing. I downloaded a few apps such as Androidideo, and the youtube app. It plays the videos but it wont play the audio. When I use the sprint tv though the audio will work. I thought maybe it was the apps, but when I went online to youtube, the audio wouldnt work there either. Help
