I also got a citation for not presenting a vehicle registration (i was using my dad's car and I didnt know where it was-- turns out, its just in the compartment, slipped in a book).. so the ticket costs a little more than $1000... so Im going to court and hopefully my ticket will cost way less if i presented the registration?

also, this is my first time getting a ticket.. could you tell me what the procedures are.. im asked to show up at 8am... what do i do there? sign in? stand up in front of the judge and just plead guilty? (btw, i had no idea i ran the stop light, i thought the police had the wrong person when i was pulled)
it wasnt the cop who gave me that fine, he gave me a ticket for those items and weeks later, i got a letter saying how much fine i'll have to pay.. i could either pay for it or go to court.. :(

does anyone know how long it usually takes?
no, that was it.. for not stopping and "no registration" (i actually gave him an expired one saying i couldnt find the most recent one, but i knew it was somewhere in the car)

That is enormous and unjust fine. Simply for not knowing where the registration was? I would have yelled right in that cop's face and I am definitely not the type to do that under any old circumstance.

And yeah, go in and tell them what you're there for and you're not sure where to go and they'll get you situated. And if you're lucky the cop who gave you the ticket won't show up in court and you'll beat it. Happened to me.
