i got a subpoena from the barangay. what happen if i will not accept the subpoena...

...and refuse to attend hearing? someone told me about her plan to kill somebody. i inform the person concern about the treat of her life. the concern person is filling a complain and she wanted me to be her witness. is it okey that i will not accept the subpoena and not attend the said hearing?
