for this age of bike could be a number of things, low oil pressure causing lifter tap, piston slap, timing chain slap... just to nake a few that my old 80's bikes have before I restore them.... go with some 50wt oil if you're not up for tearing into the motor and see where you stand after that :)

by the way how many miles are on this lil cc bike? done a compression check & leak down yet? that will def get you some good readings ;)
 
Ok so whenever i start my bike and its just sitting there idaling in neutral or any other gear theres this rattling sound coming from the bike like inside the engine or something, but we took the cover off where the stater is and the fly wheel and thats not it, could it be on the other side? Like under the alternator cover? Or maybe something to do with the timachain? Also its leaking gas from the carbs by the air box what could cause that? What do i do?
