This is weird i just got a P0153 error code on my 98 Mercury Mountaineer V8 5.0. I just cleaned out the IAC 2 days ago with CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner and let it dry for hours before i installed it back and everything went back in alright and drove fine after i installed everything back in. However today i put a bottle of the red bottle ISO Heet that has fuel injector cleaner in it today and right after i put it in i took a drive to mix it around in the tank and less than about 4 miles later i got a CEL P0153 cause i scanned the truck with my OBD-II scanner. I cleared the code and took it out for a short ride again the same route i just took when the light came on and it did not come back on. My question is what would of caused the CEL The ISO HEET? Because when i cleaned the IAC 2 days earlier it didn't trigger the CEL. What do you people think doesn't a O2 Sensor CEL Code stay lit until it's replaced? Remember it turned on right after i put the ISO HEET into the gas tank and it took for a ride less than 4 miles after i put the bottle in and i was able to turn the light off and it didn't come back on after i cleared it and went back for another quick ride. Thanks
The ride i took when the CEL came on was actually the second time/second trip i drove the truck that day. The third trip was after i cleared the code to see if it would come back on and it didn't. So when the CEL came on it was actually the second trip and it was right after i added the ISO HEET.Maybe it will come back after a few more trips or maybe not.
