carrying a concealed weapon:? two counts of this- one for having the asp, another for having a four ounce can of pepper spray. Bummer. hERE IS MY QUESTION: This happened in Florida, so: Is it legal to have /possess these in the Florida, without a concealed weapons permit? are they allowed to be used in self defense even if u dont have a ccw?
I have NEVER been arrested, and used them both IN SELF DEFENSE, after i was attacked twice, in TWO separate incidents in one day by the same assailant. He attempted to hit me with a wooden post, and I used the asp and pepper spray to defend myself. My dumbass, however went to jail for possessing them, he did not go to jail.* yeah, wtf?!)I am trying to see what my rights are re having them both, and, whether or not i was arrested LAWFULLY, as if I don't, i want to a:clear these charges, and b: make the officer that arrested me realize that he shouldn't have.( if that is indeed the case)I have NO criminal record of any kind, and don't need this grief.Please, if you can help, my butt is in hot water, and i really really need some help with this. I received a bench ticket( notice to appear ) at the sationhouse, where I WAS NEVER FINGERPRINTED, NOR DID THEY TAKE A MUGSHOT.IN FLORIDA THE STATUTE THAT THE COP QUOTED ON MY REPORT WAS: 790.01(1)
