I get scared to talk to my friends on facebook chat? Is that weird?

There are a couple of girls in my group who I am very good friends with
and I have no problem getting on with them in person
Just on facebook chat I get scared to talk to them cause it is such an awkward way to talk to someone I dunno..

But they all talk to each other on chat and are becoming better friends, and I feel like to strengthen the friendship I have to talk to them on it but i just don't want to!
Any advice?
Like stuff to talk about etc.
