I get overheated very easily

Can someone please tell me why?

Once the weather hits 80 degrees Farenheit I can not walk outside without needing to drink ICE cold water to cool me down so I don't sweat as profusely. I stay in the shade and wear light colored clothing... and shorts. I'm not overweight either; I have an average BMI. It's really embarrassing... my friends notice that I sweat a lot. I look like I've run a marathon halfway through the day, with my hair all over the place.

I do tend to stand cold weather pretty well, and can wear less clothing than most other people. I don't even bring a sweater with me unless it hits 55F degrees or lower.

I've talked to my doctor about it and after getting a blood test she has confirmed (twice) that I don't have a thyroid problem. I sweat a lot. I drink a lot of water... and still, I can't understand why I get so overheated. I shy away from working out in public because I get so overheated and sweaty... and going on the treadmill is not an option unless the temperature 50F degrees or lower.

Can someone please tell me what is wrong with me? I can't stand the heat!

Some people are just that way - or the other way around. I cannot stand cold weather. Anything below 60 and I'm freezing - have to wear extra clothing.

One thing though, do you do a lot of caffeine? That can make you overly susceptible to heat....and you should not drink ice cold water like that...closer to room temp is better for your system.

I live in a very moderate climate, where the tempertaures change very little. Even so, I get completely overheated very easily. I do have to take a lot of medications, and have blood pressure problems, and I am at that age...so I have to live with them.

When I have to be in the heat, I wear a cute (wet) straw hat with a wet bandana underneath it, and put a tiny frozen pack up there too. No one knows the difference, and I stay cool. Since my hair gets soaking wet anyway, the hat takes care of that stringy hair problem too! I just put the whole mess under the hat. Sometimes my kids saw that I smell like straw, but I don't care, I am cool.
