I frustrate myself! GRRRR

I have GOT to stop procrastinating, but I'm so stubborn! I have a plan of all of the things I have to do for the day. I then accomplish most of the things I have written, and then it comes to homework and other things of such importance, I do everything I possibly can to wait for the last minute. Yes, I work well under pressure, but lately I don't want to work at all.
I wait until the last second to go to school, I go to work late, I take forever getting my hair dry after a shower (not my fault, but yes, I could take a shower earlier, I just don't want to), I do homework really late, and I put money in the bank at the last second (which turned around and bit me in the butt one day). I'm not really looking for suggestions on how to get motivated and do my work, because I know how. I just don't feel like it I guess. haha I mean, I get so frustrated because I wait so much. GAH!
Does anyone else get this way?

And yes, this is one of the dumbest posts I have EVER posted, but it was bothering me.

I know what you mean. I procrastinate on EVERYTHING! Including getting decent sleep, thanks mainly to this site. I go to school full-time but don't currently have a job. So you'd think I'd be doing great with my class load. But, of course, I'm not. I mean, I'm passing but could be getting straight A's. Sadly, I waste pretty much all of the spare time I have by killing brain cells in front of the television. Or typing on this damn computer. I think I personally sabotage myself in these situations. I waste my potential because I fear success, I guess. Well, maybe.

Anyway, in my own way, I understand your plight, Jane. My advice ... snap out of it by any means necessary. Don't end up like me: the poster child for bad decisions in life.

You know Jane most people do put things off for the last minute. They dred it soo much they will only do it if it will become a bigger deal if the dont. (deadlines) I for example, put things like shoping and my laundry off specifacly until one day I heard my daughters stomach growl over the tv and THEN she tells me she dont like anything. So I solved that problome I dont put that off no more. As for the laundry I got to the point a guy came in for mantance and called child protective services on my so again not a prob no more. So one day It will really bite you in the but and sadly it might take that or a bit more to get you to learn but, everyones puts something off till the last minute. Youres just happens to be school or things of great importance. You'll get over it dont worry.

Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about - I'm even worse with it. My procrastination's one of the biggest reasons I'm not in college at the moment. I don't even plan what I do from day to day now - I just wake up and go through the day. Half the time, if I do plan on doing something, I never get around to doing it, even though I know I should. It's really frustrating. :banghead:

:gun: me

this issue has been my major problem for a number of years. it's like as if i don't want to do anything with my life but just do other unimportant things to waste my precious time. i'm in year 12 and it's a really fragile year... i know how much this year means to my life, but i still can't get my head around to actually do all of my homework, there's something definately wrong with me! i get really frustrated with myself aswell, and this is the main reason for my constant mood swings, i think i'm stupid. i hardly study for tests so i get about 70% of the questions right, just imagine how much that would increase by if i could just STOP PROCRASTINATING!!! GAhh. i do not know what i can do to fire up my motivation, i am doomed =(

I think most of the people here will say they're the same way, Why do you think they're on the site so much?

No, I'm kidding.
But I am the same way, but I put it down to my laziness, which is another big part of me. I do get spurts of where I just need to do something, but that happens rarely.

Hey kid cheer up! Both of you... All of you your all smart or you would still be looking for the anykey to start your damn computer. Second Denkie your ok trust me I remember my 12th year lol my god I had a 59% in 2 classes that I needed to pass high school and in the last bit kicked it into high gear and passed with a C. So if I can do it I KNOW you can.

I fully agree with that.

Well, I did a little research for a speech about procrastination (that i wrote the night before haha) that said procrastination can be something that a perfectionist deals with. This might be true in my case. I don't like doing something unless it is just right, but that takes a lot of energy out of me. I just know I have 2 days to write a 3 page paper and about 5 days to get a bunch of stuff done for Costa Rica. *sigh*

haha no, it's more of something that i guess i will do in my own time. i just have to set my priorities straight, it's just a matter of wanting too.

I was waiting a bit to post in this thread...

Actually, I was sleeping... but whatever.

I procrastinate all of the time. Just because... well...

Just because.

Dammit. I have no excuse.

well I get the same thing myself. but i never end up doing it  I just end up sitting around. Some weeks, I'll ring in sick to work then just not go in, laze around, feelign sorry for myself, blah blah. It'll end hopefully soon

I once had a psychologist say I suffer from failed perfectionism, meaning you do something perfect or set it up where it's nearly impossible to do. In a lot of ways, that's true, I guess. Plus add a fair amount of laziness.

Oh, yeah ... Costa Rica, huh? Must be nice! ;)
