I found a giant snail in my garden hedge?

I'm in the UK and we don't really get 'that' many snails. Anyway.. I used to have African land snails but sold mine on as they were too much work and weren't exactly very nice looking in the tank. So yeah.. I went outside the other day and I was looking around the garden and I looked in the hedge and there I found it!! A massive African land snail. It must have been an African land snail. Normal snails can't grow that big. Unfortunately the snail was found dead. I'm wondering what to do with it? :S So random. Maybe it's a sign of good luck. At first I thought I was hallucinating.
 
Choosing and maintaining the right garden hedge is important. It will offer a better natural shelter than a solid barrier.
