Don't let it out until it's calmed down and knows you won't hurt it. Birds can easily get scared and hurt themselves if let out. Sit by its cage and talk to it calmly for about 10 minutes a day for a week. Then you can begin putting your hand in the cage for a few minutes at a time so it knows it won't hurt it. Then you can begin to let it out if you feel that it trusts you. I really would suggest getting its wings clipped though. Just until it's trained.

Just wanted to say dont replie saying put a add someone lost pet i am going to keep it i saved its life and the owner shouldint of let it out i would never let a budgie fly away i have researched alot about budgies there last 2 days and i am only 15 i no that if you want it to talk and to tame it you should only have that 1 budgie but if you want it to be happy and talk budgie laungage then get another one i would get it a mirror but i think when it starts to get bored we will get him/her another budgie
