I forbid my fiance from eating at her favorite chinese restaurant because they had a

Buddha idol there? The Bible says not to eat food sacrificed to idols and when I walked into the chinese restaurant that she liked I saw a Buddha there and I told her that we were not eating there and she was not allowed to eat there anymore and explained why. She acts like its just a decoration but I told her I didn't care. When they have these fat Buddha idols lying around they are wrong in the first place and you can definately tell it isn't right. She is really mad at me now and I am trying to get her to see my point and she still isn't. What should I do? I know it was her favorite restaurant so I can kind of understand her being mad but I was hoping she would see my point.

I am a Christian, but if I had a favorite place to eat that had a "statue" of their particular heritage "decorating" their place, I would not spite myself into not eating there just because of a decorative figure of their culture. I feel you should maybe "rethink" your priorities & think more of the food your g/f enjoys rather than the decor...Good luck...:)

It is a restaurant for heaven sakes...A decoration...I am sure the food is prepared in a kitchen where all restaurants do and has no " sacrifice " connected to it....And further more who the he** are you to " forbid " her ??? Let the woman enjoy the restaurant....You should go back and read the Bible a little more before you grab a quote and use it to fit your desires.....And as long as we are on the subject what does the Bible say about those who worship the Buddha as their religious figure ? Do you think that God loves them any less ??? It sounds like you are just another blind sheep who only thinks " their " belief is the right one.....The ONE message you seem to leave out is that Jesus said we are all children of the father......All of us......

I think she should dump you quickly. No offense, but obviously you have no understanding of Buddhism, or the fact that the Christian Bible is only one of many scriptures and Christianity is only one of many religions.

Generally, Taoism, Buddhism and Christianity are considered the religions that promote tolerance, love, and harmony.

The only thing you should avoid are trolls in Y!A, for the Mighty Yamster abhors trolls.
