i dont know how to explain this. or if i should. it sounds obvious. theres a several ponds behind our house, altough i have fished those numerous times, i aint gettin nothin, despite our neighbors sayin they stocked with bass it. theres also a sewer canal by those ponds, but nothin. if you walk half a mile down, the sewer main is a huge pond( almost half the size of a football field. the first time i ever casted in that pond, i caught a three pound bass in it. time went by the next time i visited, and when i came another day. i caught three gar. then the next i caught another. see, my problem is, lake tahoe, 4 miles down the road is on the bass pro tour, meaning bass anglers from all across the country come. anyways, when i go, i fish off the piers and i scavenge around tryin to find a quiet, secluded spot that i secretly sit down and hook in fish. the only problem is, i only get a few bites a day, nothing like that little pond i go more often to. i need to use a boat to idle around the weedflats, and lilypads, the hotspots for bass. its ok to fish off the dock, but the few times i floated on the boat with my dad, i was gettin mad bites. more than that pond. but i caught fish in the pond, which i havent in the lake. do you see where im going? can you help me. i live in saint cloud fl and im thirty miles south of orlando. if you wanted a ten mile radius to fish, there are like 7 lakes to choose from. lake tahoe, east lake tahoe, alligator lake, kissimmee lake, bass lake, etc... i want to fish in all the lakes in florida. i will try hard. but anyways, can you help me out? thank you!
edit: i use crankbaits most of time, and i aint good at usin live worms, i cant dress them good....... but i will also try jiggers, spinners and lizards
lake tahoe is like a couple of miles long and wide, i havent tried every spot, as i usually walk when im fishing. a very long walk.........

Naturally you are going to have good luck at that pond because you are the only one who fishes it. Trying to fish from the bank of a large lake will more than likely be uneventful because these spots get pounded hard by people every day. When you get in a boat and hit the places that aren't getting fished every day you're naturally going to have better luck. When you're fishing the lakes, try to fish places wher the fish have cover to hide around and possibly some shade.

You are fishing in some of the best bass lakes in the state. I think your problem is you are not fishing out of a boat and trying the different spots in the lakes you are talking about. At some point as you are able to use a boat your catching will pick up in the larger lakes.
But for now you may wish to try some different baits that will increase your catches. This is what I would try if I were you.Early in the morning or late in the evening when the waters are in the shadows, and on overcast cloudy days I would try a buzz bait. It should produce bass for you under those conditions. The next bait I would try is a Yum dinger fished without a weight.and rigged Texas style.Cast it out, and retrieve it with numerous twitches and pauses in your retrieve. Sometimes just let it fall and the fish will pick it up off the bottom. The key is fishing it slowly by using your rod tip to twitch it in. When the line starts to move or you feel the fish hit it, drop the rod tip and give him slack -if he feels any resistance at this point he will drop the lure. then you slowly reel in the slack in your line and set the hook...hard. The Yum Dinger works great in weedy and grassy areas, and will slaughter the bass around the lily pads. ..Good luck and good fishing!
