We have this male outdoor cat that we discovered maybe 1 and a half year ago... he has made our backyard his home! We even made a little home for him where we supply food, water, and a resting bed. He meows in the morning, and we open the door, but he never wants to come in. He usually does this when he's thirsty or when he wants more food.
But the problem is, the winters here are very very harsh, with freezing temperature and a lot of snow. We opened the shed for him in the backyard (a little opening) so he goes there when the weather is unbearable. The saddest thing is that he meowed one morning, we opened the door, and for the first time in a year or so, he came inside! We had to.. bring him outside nicely, but I was very saddened by that... sometimes he meows and we hear him from the basement and he tries to get in through the window.
My family doesn't intend to keep him inside .. as we already have a cat and they don't get along. Plus, he's an outdoors cat...?
My two questions are:
1) Does he feel as much cold as we do in the winter?
2) Would it be best to call the SPCA or just leave the cat outside in nature?
