Ok, so I just found out from my parents that as soon as I graduate, other than being responsible for paying back my Stafford loans (30,000) <--it will take me 6 years to complete my degree) my parents expect me to pay them back the rest of my tuition ($104,000). Granted these payments will be made over time, but I don't want anything being held over my head so I can get on with my life and enjoy it...
I also plan on getting married a year or two after I graduate...
will these financial issues prevent me from getting married? Should I just get married in a civil office or what? I was hoping to start saving now for the wedding, get a good nest going, but now I feel like things are hopeless...
