I want my gallbladder back! Anyone willing to donate yours to me? Haha! This stinks and I don't know what to do to fix it. Honestly my symptoms seem worse after taking Prilosec and Nexium. I just started Prevacid on Tuesday so I guess I'll have to wait and see how that goes. Right now, I'm miserable and just want to know for sure what is going on. My appointment with the gastroenterologist is on Tuesday. Hoping she can help me.

Hello ,
I have Gerd with horrible Acid reflex and Heartburn everything I eat give me heartburn. the food I eat is not greasy it's lowfat food . I also had my gall bladder removed 8 weeks ago. About three weeks ago I had an colonopy and was Diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia and Diverticulosis. April 23, 2010 I suppose to get an Endoscopy. AFTER I eat 20 mins later my food start regurgitating . I always feel like i'm choaking . I feel sick on the stmoach all the time. I have a great GI doctor he started me ON A NEW MEDICINE This week. So far It don't seem to be working yet. I will keep everyone posted...Thanks

Did you have the issue with acid reflux before you had your gallbladder surgery? I ask because I had mine removed 4 months ago and having been experiencing symptoms I had never had before including heartburn a couple times. I've been having chest, back, and even neck and shoulder discomfort recently sometimes right after eating and sometimes random. I ususally wake up feeling slightly sick to my stomach but it goes away after an hour or so. My doctor think this is all cause by acid reflux but I never had these issues until after I had my gallbladder removed. I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist next week.

Hope you get to feeling better soon. Keep me updated. Best of luck to you!

Do you (those who have had their gallbladders removed) take digestive enzymes? I wonder if there is something, bile or whatever, that was being supplied by the gallbladder that is now absent and is making it more difficult for the stomach to digest food. I am thinking that perhaps people who have had their gallbladders removed experience heartburn for reasons different than mine (I think I am just an old lady with a weakened LES). Maybe yours might be a case of impaired digestion due to lack of digestime enzymes. Maybe supplementing with good quality digestive enzymes might help in this case.

Thank you for your reply. I never had these issues until after I had my gallbladder removed. Now it seem like everything is wrong. I wish I never had my gallbladder removed . But I had to It was an emergecy , I am only 48 and now having health problems I never had before I pray they go away. ..... I will keep you posted

No, I'm not taking any digestive enzymes. I need to be doing something differently for sure. Maybe that is worth looking in to.

I had my gallbladder removed after having 3 attacks in about a month due to a gallstone. I'm 26 years old and had never had a health issue before all these problems started. At least I haven't had severe episodes of pain like I did with the GB but I'm pretty much in discomfort or pain on a daily basis now that is driving me crazy. Even drinking water will sometimes cause stomach discomfort and once even made my shoulders ache. Hopefully we'll both get our issues resolved soon. Take care!

ughhh, i can completely relate to acid reflux EVERY day, every meal for moooooooooooonths now...i have my gallbladder. I am on the strisctest diet. Seeing a new naturopath as meRAB always seem to make things worse for me. I am in bad shape but praying to get better. I am so sorry for your suffering, i know all to well what GI hell is after years of no trouble and normalcy.

My reflux started 6 weeks after getting gallbladder out. Join the crowd. Guess digestion must be slowed down by it's removal.

Hi Marigold:

What has the naturopath suggested? I wish I could find one in my area, preferably someone recommended by someone who has worked with that person. I wonder if they have suggestions other than the DGL, aloe juice, etc.

I guess we are fortunate to live in the days of modern medicine. But what did folks do thirty years ago before H2 blockers and PPI's?
