I failed my Tuberculosis test.

Now what do I do?

I got my TB test done on Tuesday and the stupid thing started puffing up on Tuesday night...come Wednesday it was bigger...and come today it's even bigger. they measured my bump at 15mm, which is the minimum for a person who may have the disease.

so today the measured my bump and then i had a chest xray. i am freaking out. my mother isn't helping my freak out either because she is freaking out.

if i have just been exposed to it, which is the case, i can take a medication from 6 to 12 months. its a med that is hard on the liver aaaaaaand the drinking stops. if i do have TB, i guess i take medication and i don't know what else? thats what scares me is not knowing. it looks like my drinking is probably coming to an end, not that i care anymore.

i'm just so terrified. has anyone gone through this before? can you give me some advice? im really sad :(

awww honey I sorry!!! I had a tb test before but nothing happened. I hope you'll be OK, if it makes you feel better I don't drink that much anymore

so we can be sober buddies together, I'll totally stop drinkin all together while you're taking your meds (if you have to) so I can be supportive of your sobriety :D
 
I don't drink much either, so it won't be a stretch for me to stop drinking altogether. :)

Jane, I hope everything goes well. My thoughts are with you. If you have to take the medication then I'm sure you are disciplined enough to avoid drinking. It'll be okay. :)
 
thanks guys, and thanks raffe...i think you are growing up:)

my mom called and made some sense out of it if it turns out for the worst. if i do have tb, at least i will know what is wrong with me. i have been sick with different chest issues on and off for a while. at least this way i can be cured.

it does suck though, people look at me like i'm an alien when i'm asked about it =/
