I fail at phones.,

If you want an iPhone, then get one? I'd wait until June when the new one comes out though.

Maybe you need glasses. I browse the web and watch youtube videos on my phone all the time without issue.

There are some pretty impressive games on the iPhone as well.

If you think that's pretty impressive, wait till you see DDO. It's got shadows, and water you can swim in. And you can play with 20 other people at once. And it's got real-time dynamic lighting. That looks like an old Diablo clone.

Anyway that was my original point. The only thing that a phone does well at is being a phone. All the other stuff looks sort of tacked on and ten years ago.

Even ignoring the inanity of comparing a PC and mobile game... DDO is supposed to be impressive? Really?

Only true if you're buying shitty phones. The primary use for my phone is business email, then browsing, reading/editing docs, the occasional SSH and time killing stuff like games (the one above, Worms) and Youtube. You seem to have some weird idea that everything needs to fall into either PC-level performance/ability or only be able to make calls. I have to say, that's a silly and false dichotomy. Modern smart phones are getting good enough to replace UMPCs/netbooks in most circumstances. The only time I even pull my netbook out anymore is when I need to console (serial connection) into a device or cap packets, or type up a long email. Nearly everything else I'd use a notebook for on a day to day basis is covered quote well by my phone.

Try getting into the habit of putting it in your pocket when not in use, if u are texting back and forth with someone, and you need to go into a gas station for maybe 2-3 mins, im sure the other person will still be there if u dont text them back till you are back in the car.

Edit: The droid is totally worth it... and thats weird because a droid commercial just came on while I was typing this.

All the phones that I have ever had were pay as you go, being that I am broke all the time, I never get to keep them because I run low on minutes and never have money to fill them back up.

I went on a trip this past weekend and lost my phone. I have to use a replacement phone for a few more weeks, but then I get to pick a new phone. I'm looking into getting an HTC Droid Eris or the Motorola Android. A lot of my friends have the iphone, but I have Verizon so it isn't an option for me. I was able to use someone elses phone this weekend and he had a Motorola Android and I loved it. I'm pretty sure that is the one you should go for.
