I am 20 and I enlisted in the California Army National Guard and when I went to meps I did not tell the doctors about my two hernia surgeries I had when I was a kid the first one I had was when I was one year old and second one I was seven. I did not tell meps about my two hernia surgeries because my recruiter told me not to tell them so I did not tell meps so I lied to meps? Before I went to meps I had told my recruiter about my two hernia surgeries and he told me I needed to get medical documents from the hospitals I had got the surgeries and I told him I did not know where and what hospitals I had got the surgeries. So then he asked me if the scars where i had got surgeries were visible and I told him no. Then he told me when I go to meps not to mention my hernia surgeries and told me in case if the doctors at meps see my scars to tell them I cut my self with a stick. So when I went to meps the doctors did not see the scars so I did not tell them anything about my hernia surgeries then the doctors told me I passed my physical test and that I was physically fit to join the military. Now I am worried that meps will find out that I did not tell them about my two hernia surgeries and get me in trouble? I have not done the oath of enlistment because I did not passs the asvab and I am going to retake it in a week? The thing is I lied to meps and I am worried that they will find out and punish me? And right now I am just at home waiting to retake the asvab. And I just found out the name of the hospital where I had got my first hernia surgery but I dont know the name of the hospital where I had got my second hernia surgery but both surgeries were for the same type of hernia surgery. So what I want to know is if I could get the medical documents where I had got my second hernia surgery and take them to meps or give them to my recruiter so he could sent them to meps? Anyway I want to know if I can do this and not get into any kind of trouble and be able to join? Can anyone please tell me how I can solve my problem and not get into trouble? I just want to join and serve my country?
