Hi I eat tuna once a day and i would like to eat it more than once a day because it's really good for my diet as far as protein, but i've been looking things up and it has been found that there may be small amounts of mercury in tuna. i love tuna and sardines in my diet and i dont have time to really cook anything, tuna, some smart balance mayo, whole grain bread makes my day, lol. so can someone really give me a thorough answer about tuna and mercury.

i wouldn't eat it more than once a week. the mercury is just building up. you can get protein from vegetables like soy and spinach, and not have to worry about mercury.

It's fine. It's a great source of protein. But do make sure you get the canned stuff that is in water, not oil.

Canned tuna generally has lower levels of mercury than other tuna. Because the tuna used for canning are smaller species that are generally caught when less than one year old. It's fine to eat it everyday.

I have tuna on whole grains with a bit of low fat mayo too.

Have you tryed tuna salads? mmmmmmmmm. Can't beat it !
