i drive a 91 mazda mx6 dx can i turbo my f2 motor?

i need to know if i can turbo my motor for my mx6??? someone told me all i have to do is take the turbo ecu from the gt Model and screw in the knock sensor then i can turbo it, but on the other hand another person said that if i do that then at high rpms things will start getting out of time and clicking but isn't it a low compression motor? btw i have a single overhead cam 12 valve
