Freedom"... Enduring? So, Freedom is there currently?
Sorry, I'm lost.

Occupation by the USA + people who will throw acid in the face of school girls because they want an education/the Taliban.
NO part of that reminds me of, 'Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, ou la Mort' except, of course, for the fact that after all of the screaming of 'Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, ou la Mort' in 1789–1799 France, the DICTATOR Napoleon came to power. Isn't that telling a lot?

So, there is no freedom to 'Endure' in Afghanistan. When NATO leaves, the Western propped up government will last a few years, falter/become infiltrated by the extremist/taliban and you'll be back to a theocracy and hundreds of young, beautiful Canadians, Brits, Americans, etc. died all for nothing. Makes me sick.

Yes, the majority of the population probably wants not to live in fear of the taliban lashing them for having too short a beard. However, how they live in something OTHER than fear is to be educated and let their own minds liberate them, not guns.
But It takes about 15-20 years to educate a population...not only that, the infrastructure you'd need to do that would take another 20 years, before that, to build.

So, >40 years to get an educated Afghanistan population that has the brains not to follow who ever carries the biggest gun....40 years? Do you really see that happening? NO.

If there is no education, there is no future. Since Afghanistan is poor, all the money to do this, unlike in Oil rich Iraq, must come from the outside..like that's going to happen

It's all or nothing. Stay the few decades it will take or get my Canadian bothers and sisters OUT.

There is no freedom to endure, so, why is the US staying? Isn't it starting to look like Vietnam? Sadly..
No, Mr. Politico.

The names of these operations mean something.
The idea that freedom is a prerequisite to the perpetuation of it MEANS something. It implied Afghanistan has been liberated and delivered into freedom or whatever the copy read.

Of course, if you take 'Desert Storm' literally it has next to no meaning, but metaphorically, of course it does.
What? Allied Force didn't send a message? It didn't imply that the western world is against you, watch out?

No sir, you are the one who has an argument of folly.
I'd like to think of myself as a Centrist leaning towards the right....but I gotta say, Mr. downwithsocialists...You are right here.

Obama renamed the operation its called OCO Overseas Contingency Operation so he thinks words make a difference......... hes sucha moron

we going to lose this war and not because we cant win but because it costs to much commitment(in more ways than just more troops) that Obama does not have.

I hope im wrong

:(

It's the name of a military operation. The name itself has no real meaning. If it was named Operation Kick Taliban A**, would you feel better? Was there a big storm during Operation Desert Storm? What about Operation Overlord? How would you describe that?
You have a weak thesis; needs a little work!

Those folks in the Middle East have been fighting it out with each other for over 3000 years. The paper from all the broken peace treaties that have been signed would fill up a super tanker.

If by some strange miracle all the armament was taken out of that area they would be throwing rocks at each other.

Leave'em alone and let them fight it out.
