A 3500kg truck slams into the back of a parked car with a velocity of 14.3 m/s. The truck comes to a halt, and the car, of mass 1500kg has no other forces acting on it. What is the car's velocity?
use conservation of momentum.
m1vi+m2vi=m1vf+m2vf
since the car isw initial at rest we can eliminate m2vi and since the truck is then at rest after the collision we can eliminate m1vf
so
m1vi=m2vf
just solve for v2 you know everything else.
