i don't understand the whole army thing??

so my friend is at BT in fort benning georgia.
hes been gone for a month yesterday. a week ago his mom called me and told me that he just started BT. idk what was going on.

i also have another question...
when he gets done and he comes home:
1) how long does he get to stay home?

Dont know exactly what you are asking but....
Basic Training is your first stage of the military. it is used to break you down from what you were and build you into a soldier. They take you, strip down what they dont like and make you into Army material. Its a stage in which you learn the basics of military combat as well. Its also used to weed out those who are just not ready for the military yet. Your friend will come back-he will be a little bit different when he left. He will be much more grown up and mature.
As far as how long he can stay home after he finishes, that really varies. Maybe a month, maybe less....
