I don't know alot about xbox360/ps3 but does microsoft hold alot of exclusive titles?

Many titles that are currently on the 360 will likely find their way over to the PS3. Its not economically feasible to develop for one system anymore... unless you have multiple projects for different systems.

I preordered bladestorm

It's made by KOEI (Dynasty Warriors), but now it looks like it's more an strategic war game (with no magic and all that)
The graphics aren't so imppresive, but the war scenes will handle more than 1000 soldiers in real time

PS3 already lost Assassin's Creed, Virtua Fighter 5, Armored Core 4, Fatal Inertia, Bladestorm, as Grand Theft Auto 4 as exclusives. (all coming to the 360) Now they're looking to lose Tekken 6 as an exclusive as well.

MS snagged the rights to Splinter Cell: Conviction, Mass Effect, BioShock, Lost Planet, Blue Dragon, Gears of War, Lost Odyssey, and Dead Rising.

Guitar Hero II is now coming to the 360 with extra songs/features.

And, rumors are, that Sony might be losing Devil May Cry 4 exclusivity as well. We also know that Resident Evil 5 will be appearing on both the 360, and PS3. As will many other big titles, like Mercenaries 2.

Metal Gear Solid 4 so far (as acknowledged by Kojima/Konami) is coming to the PS3 first, but they have not said it won't come to the 360 ever. We've already seen other Metal Gear titles on the Xbox, and Gamecube.

Sony still does have some of it's big ffranchises in lock though....Gran Turismo, God of War, and Final Fantasy. To name a few. But, it's no secret that they've been losing some BIG titles. Part of that has to do with the cost of developing games for these new consoles....developers are starting to have to go cross-platform to enable them to make enough money to profit on their titles.

Sony also dropped the ball with some developers, like Rockstar, Take Two, and Ubisoft. Living them hanging....basically costing Sony the chance to get exclsusivity.

As a programmer, I can relate to how cost consuming developing software is. Average people (ie. fanboys) don't realize this.

Gamers hate delays because they just expect code to come out of thin-air. It's a shame when you are a gamer and you can't appreciate the sweat programmers put into the software.

I spoke to a developer who receieved a PS3 roughly more than a year ago and he was shocked how relatively hard it was to program for it compared to the 360 console he received earlier too. It simply does not have as much developmental tools as the 360 has. Perhaps it does now but Microsoft just has better experience with programming tools from my experience.

This is very true....John Carmack has noted this many times. It's not surprising at all though, because MS is a software company, and Sony is a hardware company. MS has A LOT more experience in this area.

your best bet is buying a 360 now while since there are good games available currently with some good titles coming soon. Buy a PS3 in 18 months or so when some good titles are also available for it.

I can't wait for Forza 2 and GT5.
