I don't have any water signs in my astrological chart, so why do I have so
many mood swings? According to astrology, those who have planets in water signs are supposed to be extremely emotional. My chart is mostly made up of air signs, which are supposed to indicate someone who is intellectual and rational and not given to emotional extremes. I think that I can be intellectual and rational, but I also have a lot of mood swings, for which I take medication. If I don't have any water influences in my chart, what explains my moodiness?

Water signs get a bad rap for being the moody ones. Not so, just about everyone gets moody. Mercury retrogrades can cause moodiness too, because communication breaks down easily. Air signs are a lot more moody than water signs. Water signs has to do with feeling and emotions, not mood swings. Air is more unstable than water. Earth signs are the most rational. Cancers are the brainiac of the Zodiac. Mercury's placement has to do with intellect as well. With your moon, sun, ascendant - yes. You have all the elements of a drama queen. Your Aquarius sun should add to your intellect. Your gemini moon would make you clever and manipulative, but that has nothing to do with intellect. Gemini moon can make you quite manipulate...making you pout to get your ways, witty and charming, but as soon as you don't get your way, the mood swinging comes on.

I am in air sign and I have mood swings. Mood swings can indicate a lot of physiological and astrological things.
As a woman, our hormone cycle causes a lot of these swings.
As a human, our genetic make-up can be the cause...it is just worse if you are a water sign.
and honestly...many Earth signs that I know are emotional....and there are some qualities to air signs that make us emotional.
I guess a good example would be: My husband promised to do something for me last week...it was related to my Bday. He didn't do it and I actually felt pretty hurt and didn't blow it off (which in a lot of cases I would have). It was random and unexplained. It just hit the right day at the right time is all.
