I don't get it?

I find this thread ironic now. I posted earlier about how much I loved my E60 and a few days later it just died on me!! It was working normally like any other day when I noticed I wasn't getting any network coverage. I thought it was odd because I had just received a call not even 10 minutes prior. No matter what I did (re-installing the firm ware/*#7370#) or who's sim card I put in the phone it just would not get a signal. Then suddenly after an hour of messing with it, it started working normlly.


Later that evening I was at my computer and my phone was upstairs. My wife called me and asked was I bluetoothing something to my phone because the screen said "installing". After that, not only will it not get a signal but it won't stop turning itself off either but just staright up turning off, or the screen starts flickering and won't except any commands. Has any heard of this before!?
 
The "installing" thing can come from having done a #7370 and apps previously installed on the memory card trying to re-init themselves. I did a #7370 on my E50 like this, and it was no end of grief -- using the memory card as-is was killing the device. I eventually stuck it in a card reader, saved/wiped and put it back.

Have you tried taking out the memory card to see if it went nuts? When I first powered up this E60 on Saturday it had v1.x firmware; I formatted the MMC but it would not mount properly under Linux, no matter what. I upgraded to the new v2 firmware, reformatted the card and it works fine (it's an old MMC from a 6682).

Just an idea...
 
Thanks for your input. I did not try reformatting the card because it still does this even when the card is not in it. However, it did say installing and then failed to install somethings after the first time I re-installed the firmware like you stated. But besides the crashing I still can't get a signal no matter what profile its on, no matter what sim card is in, and yes the network is set to GSM and not dual mode or umts.
 
are they thumbs or middle fingers?

i dont like the e60 cuz it uses dv rs-mmc...well and its also hard to find one for sale on bst...and i havent even count made in finlan dyet
 
Mine is made in finland. Is that supposed to mean its some how better made than in other places? You'll have a hard time convincing me of this now!! LOL
