I always liked E60, but since very few people on these forums (anybody?) own one i thought that i must be missing something. My second choice was E61 but i decided it is to big to fit comfy in jeans pocket and so i ended up with E60. Aaaaaand? - I absolutely love it! So my question is how come that nobody buys these phones. It seems to me that E60=N80-camera and different form factor, or E60=E70-qwerty+great reception+more RAM. It's also considerably cheaper than any other S60 with similar features. Is it just the looks or am i missing something?
 
I think a lot of the North American users here really want GSM 850, and with the other options (E50, N80, N73), we've gone with those. Additionally, the lack of a camera probably pushes away a lot of users. Still, for those that don't want those features, it sure does look like a good choice. I went for the E50 since I did want a camera, and wifi just wasn't a feature I want in a phone yet. The higher resolution screen is a great addition to this unit, though, I wish they would have done that for more of the s60v3 phones.
 
I wonder exactly the same thing. I don't have one but I would love to have one as a second phone. Unfortunately I spent all my money on my N93. If the E60 had the new processor of the N93 I would give up my N93 in a heartbeat for the E60. I like the fact that it is smaller and has the amazing 416x352 screen.
 
I never had a chance to play with N93, so i can't compare the speed between the two. It seems to be little faster than my 6630, plenty fast for my usage. And yes, screen is unbelievable. It has a landscape mode too. Awesome for browsing.
 
I also considered E50. E60 won because of screen size and resolution. I don't care about the camera though. I just can't believe that all T Mobile users here care about 850mhz and poor quality camera so much that they don't mind spending extra couple hundred bucks on N80. I can't even remember last time somebody mentioned E60.
I started repeating myself 'cause E60 is so much nicer than i expected, due to its lack of popularity.
 
I also have an E60. I have My company e-mail (mail for exchange) coming to it, as well as my personal (blackberry connect). The E60 is easily the best and most useful phone I've ever used, and I have used almost all Nokia Phones as of late. I use it on T-mobile and have had no reception problems. The call quality is perfect and the Wi-fi really comes in handy! I chose it over the E61/62 because it is relatively small and pocketable. The E61/62 was just too big for me.
 
Yep, it seems to be a great device, I was going to get one but ended getting the E61 because it has 850, and where I live, it's a must... Otherwise I would have got the E60...

Actually, it is feasible to get the E70-II, however I think the people who really want to get a device that could do what it can do eventually tend to go for the BB form factor. Simply because it has a bigger screen and a hell-bigger battery life.

One of my best friends was going to buy on --also since I was egging him on-- however he settled for the E62 because of the screen and battery life.

However there are a few people here who have it and they both --at least the two that I have read that have it-- love it because it is small than the E6* brick.
 
Finally some love for E60! After using it for a week i can say that i love it even more. At first i wasn't to excited about its looks but with time i fell in love with its boxy design. Only gripes so far: battery life (have to charge it every night), and it restarted when i manually exited wifi connection in connection manager (on two occasions). Other than that solid device. Oh yeah it also seem to suffer "no call waiting signal while connected to bluetooth headset" defect, just like other E series devices.
 
I don't hear call waiting signal (short beep) if i talk using bluetooth headset. I believe some of the other E series (E50, E61?) phones have the same flaw. Hopefully Nokia will address this issue in the future.
 
The longer you use it the more you will love it. I've had mine for about 6 months now and don't really see anything coming out that can replace its functionality and size for me. Six months is the longest I've had a phone in a looooonnng time. if something happened to it I would by another one without giving it a second thought.
 
As mentioned, I think a lot of would have purchased if it had a camera and 850 -- you can naysay those features, but it's what we want. The E50 is the next best thing and it's a winner too! Maybe a next-gen E-series will be like a hybrid between the two with all the goodies - screen, size, cam, wifi, etc. Instant hit in the US.
 
I had the E60 briefly, and I have to say I wasn't that impressed really. It's overall cubic size is the same as the N80, so there's no benefit there. The joystick on the E60 was very uncomfortable and the keypad was stiff and difficult to use. Horizontal view is (almost) a waste of time on the E60 because you keep having to flip it back whenever you want to type anything, so that's not too much of a benefit either. The loadspeaker on the E60 was also pretty weedy in comparison to the N80. The E60 also only takes RS-DV-MMC cards whereas all other new Nokias take either MiniSD or MicroSD. The E60 also has the old style, large charger plug (which is no use to me now that all of my chargers are the newer, smaller type!) Really, the only thing going for the E60 IMO, is the screen and wifi.
 
Cubic size might be the same but E60 is considerably slimmer. I'm really happy with both joystick and keypad, but that's subjective i guess. For simple web browsing with not a whole lot typing involved landscape mode is awesome. This is really important feature for me, as i use it all the time. Loudspeaker is good enough for my use, but i believe that N80 is louder. I have RS DV-MMC that i used in my 6630, as do many other S60 users. There's an adapter for the charger plug, no biggie. I'm not saying that E60 is better device than N80. It probably isn't. However the only objective advantage N80 has is (not so good) camera and 850 band (for those who need it). Everything else is matter of personal preference. I just think it's interesting that very few people find E60 interesting enough to buy, specially considering how much cheaper it is than most other E and N series devices.
 
I'm curious -- are you saying if you switch to landscape mode (let's say turn 90deg CCW), the joystick adjusts it's up/down/left/right to match and you can webpage scroll normally?

If so, that's awesome!
 
Wow, that is so hot -- now I need to go out to one of the import shops in town and see if they'll let me stick my SIM in one and play. Man, I wished the E50 could do that...
