I'm a junior in high school but I still haven't found my place yet. My style is mainly skinny jeans and cool t-shirts, cardigans, along with flats. I'm not girly, I love video games and I skateboard. The one time I wore a dress to school people said I looked weird. I don't want to label but it's the easiest way to explain things. I either get called a hippie or an emo kid. :/
I've tried to hang out with the people who dress like me, but all of the 'emo' kids in my school skip class to smoke cigarettes and do drugs on the weekends. I don't mind being friends with people who do drugs at school, but I can't hang out with them on the weekends because I don't want to get involved with that. (I don't do drugs, drink or smoke. It's a personal choice.)
The 'hippie' kids do the same thing. They also are really stuck up. I was friends with a couple of them until they found out that I liked 'mainstream' music (I have All Time Low and music like that on my ipod). Yeah... that didn't work out.
Meanwhile the people who DONT do drugs are really goody two shoes. Like they do community service for fun. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. That just isn't what I want to do every weekend.
I seriously don't know my place. I just want to have a group of friends who I fit in with. But I can't seem to find them. Right now I'm only friends with a couple of people, because I've known them since elementary school. How can I find people who will be friends with me, without conforming..?
I'm sorry if I sound shallow. I'm not. But labeling them makes it really easy to describe the way they act and they dress. I just want friends. Help?
