I decided on a 360 over a PS3... Questions.

I had PSOne and PS2. Big fanboy. But I decided last night to get a 360. Total after all was said and done was 560.

I was able to get the premium 360 with 20 GB HDD. Gears of War Madden 2007 and a free wireless controller.

I decided mainly on cost/benefit. PS3 is just too expensive. At 600 for the 60gb version it was too much to not even get a game. I wouldnt have been able to get Gears of War either. And the free controller was icing. Plus I wont have to wait outside for a PS3. Which I may still do because I could E-bay it for like 2000.

I am happy with the 360. The graphics look awesome on my HDTV. Gears of War is tougher than a SOB. Madden 2007 seems quite slapdash, and missing a few things. I have a feeling 2008 will be the best release ever.

I am not used to the controller yet, and it seems laid out funny because I am so used to the Playstation controller. But I assume I will get used to it soon.
But I cannot figure out how to edit rosters in Madden 07. Does anyone know how?

Also, I currently get my internet connetion wirelessly from the building I live in. So I have yet to connect. Is there a way I can connect my laptop to the 360 using a USB cable to transfer MP3's and Movies? Also can I download games and burn them yet?
 
I hated the PS2 controller because I was used to the xbox controller. But got used to it.

My girlfriend hated the 360 controller because she was used to the PS2's. But now she loves the 360 controller. Plus that little dip in the top of the 360 controller really helps. I was fuckin my thumbs up playing Fight Night Round 3 on the PS2, but on the 360 its just right.

you can use Windows Media Connect to stream music, WMV files, and photos to your 360. I currently do this wirelessly (there is a wireless gamer adapter you can buy that connects to the Ethernet port . The one I use, Linksys, is great) . To use WMConnect, you would have to download it on your laptop and configure it on your 360. OR OPTIONALLY, you can use Windows Media Player 11. I am told all of that functionality is integrated into the new Media PLayer version
 
I dont have the wireless connector yet. I forgot to grab it when I was buying everything. I honestly thought it would be included.
 
Honestly, the free wireless controller sold me. That is like 50 dollars off. And I can right out of the box can play madden with a friend.

If I got two games and a controller for PS3 that would be like 800 bucks.
 
the only shitty thing is that with the ps3 there is an integrated bluray player. but the hd dvd is an add on for the xbox. then when you get that which you probably will, it makes the system more expensive than the ps3
 
But at least the HD DVD player is OPTIONAL. I dont have to buy it if I dont want/need it. That's what makes the 360 win, to me. It's modular. I'm not forced to pay for a bunch of stuff I might not need.
 
I think what makes the PS3 a win is that since you've already spent nearly $600 on a gaming set up, why not spend $200 more and have the latest/greatest/far superior machine?
 
360 is the way 2 go i would get a ps3 when the price goes down....n if i was to get it now i would sell it n make twice as much
 
Meh. Everything I have read from people who have reviewed the PS3 have said its graphics are only slightly better than the 360. I wouldn't spend $200 more for "slightly" better.

Oh, and a lot of the games coming out with the PS3 have been reviewed as having choppy gameplay.


Doesn't sound far superior to me... and not worth $200 more.

I'll wait to get the PS3.
 
Nice choice... i'm sure you'll love your new 360. Gears is incredibly fun...

One thing though, Madden 08 wont be all that much better than 07. Its been basically the same game for 6 years with slightly better graphics and some new "gameplay" innovation that is more or less useless. The passing window is nice, but lead blocking is completely pointless as far as I can tell.

Once youre on xbox live, the 360 really shines, so have fun!
 
Yeah Im kinda pissed that EA bought exclusive rights because 2K Sports made a better football game in NFL 2k5.... and im sure they would have brought it with a 2k6 and 2k7 if they were able to.
 
Gears of War is arguably the best game to hit the 360. I wouldn't be suprised to see it as game of the year. Also, I would highly suggest buying the MS wireless adaptor. You can get them for around 60 on ebay, and its really worth it. Instantly connects, and you just plug it into the back and clip it on and you're ready to go. I love mine, best purchase so far for my 360.
